Urgently reduce water usage: Sonstraal Heights, Pinehurst, Langeberg Ridge, Kleinbron, Vredekloof, Vredekloof Heights and Morgenster Heights
10 March 2023
The City’s Water and Sanitation Directorate is currently doing emergency repairs to its 500mm diameter pipeline along Brackenfell Boulevard in Uitzicht. The conditions on the pipeline at the location of the burst makes it difficult to provide an estimated time of completion. This work will result in the intermittent disruption of the water supply to Sonstraal Heights, Pinehurst, Langeberg Ridge, Kleinbron, Vredekloof, Vredekloof Heights and Morgenster Heights during load-shedding.
Residents in the affected areas will experience a disruption in their water supply during the repairs especially during load-shedding. This is due to the alternate water being supplied to the area via a pump station.
Residents are kindly requested to store water in clean, sealed containers for when there are water supply disruptions during load-shedding. This will ensure that they have sufficient water throughout the repairs.
The City will be monitoring the water supply to these areas and the reservoir levels closely.
Every effort will be made to complete the repairs in the shortest possible timeframe.
The City regrets any inconvenience caused but it is imperative that it maintain its water supply infrastructure network to benefit its consumers.
